The boys from Basil aren’t up yet so I had a good swoon over their beautiful bus
we retraced our path back to the river. Before WW2 the Swiss didn’t trust Hitler to respect their neutrality so put lots of these gun implacements along the Rhein. They also placed huge amounts of explosives in the stopbanks and were prepared to flood the valley if needed. Liechtenstein was also a neutral country then.
and before long we’re at the border crossing. Bikes only on this old timer. It was built in 1860 and was the main route into Vaduz, the capital.
that’s the parliament buildings and looking down on them is the royal family from the castle. Liechtenstein is only 120 square kilometres and Vaduz is just a small town. BUT , it has some of the best street art you’re likely to see. Every street in the town centre is an art gallery

ENOUGH !! Back into Switzerland and the next town is Buchs, right in the middle of a music and vintage car festival
It must have been a Vespa rally also as there were over 300 Vespas from all over Europe ( and a heap of Bambinos)
it’s still only 2pm so we’re aiming for Oberriet for the night. It’s getting hotter
I couldn’t get over the hay making. The cut grass was bought into the barn and they baled it there. ๐ค
We endeavour to be off the road by 3pm to make sure we find a bed. This seems a quiet little town but no sooner had we showered and washed our clothes, just ready to kick back and relax, when these damned bells in the church started up and went for about an hour
