We woke to rain this morning so had a sleep in and a deliberately late start hoping it would clear
Nope ! By morning tea break it was still drizzling. This is Hagnau.
Some commercial fishermen operate on the lake from here.I’m not sure what fish they catch but I had some for my dinner tonight and it was terrible
🤔It’s a sculptor
Meersburg. Famous for its castle ( and it’s weird statues )
Heading north now the next stop is a replica Stone Age stilt village at Pfalbauten. I’ve been on a similar one in Scotland . Fascinating !
And now ….What we’ve been aiming at all day ( well I have anyway ) AUTO &TRAKTOR MUSEUM BODENSEE
This has to be the greatest collection of Tractors, motor bikes and rare cars in the WORLD . Four stories of them all in perfect working order
set out like streets with shops like this shoe shop and an audio guide describing all shops and vehicles
I bet you never realised they had Hybrid cars back in 1938. The little motor was in the boot for hill work and the driver and passenger pedaled on the flats. With motor going AND pedaling furiously this beast could reach 35 kms/hr. Imagine that !!
The Yanis 750 1950. The drivers door faced forward and the passengers backwards. The seats faced the doors. The engine was mid mounted and was very noisey so you probably couldn’t hear them screaming in the back as they reversed to the destination.
Cycle touring around Lake Constance ( or Bodensee) is a huge business and with such amazing attractions around it ,it’s no wonder. This lot are inside
The forecast is good again for the next week at least so we’ll get a move on
