“Please can I get our bikes out”

“It is Saturday , we don’t open until 8 “oh well , at least they were safe.On leaving The Hague we had a look at the ‘peace Palace’ You probably know that The Hague is traditionally where peace talks are held ( The city of peace ) this chap was a wealth of knowledge three kms from the centre of the city are the beaches. Beautiful white sand going all the way up the coast. The land yacht was taking people for rides in 1640 !Of The 60 kms today ,47 of them were on an amazing trail through the sand dunes. Great mountains of sand that stretch all the way from the Hook of Holland to upper Friesland. Great biking and there were 100s of people out on itit’s another nature reserve and this Stag ran across the road in front of usA lot of the beaches are only accessible by bike along this trail. Handy water stop. When we passed through Katwijk there was a festival on. We watched a couple of bands and this pipe band from Scotland.I love to see young family’s out on their bikes. This isn’t Just recreation though. It’s a serious mode of transport. Whenever we stop and study our map ,someone inevitably stops and offers to help.( we must look pathetic ). This lady knew of our hotel and went a kilometre out of her way to take us there. We are in Santpoort-Noort tonight. About 5 kms north of Harlem
