We seem to have been aiming at it forever! 
Our hostess Sietske was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Delivered us this typical Dutch breakfast. What ! No porridge

These are Friesland horses. Hairy feet like a draught horse but very graceful. And very expensive we were told. This paddock had at least 40 of them. 
Just look in any direction in Friesland and you’ll see masts of yachts and barges. We even passed a yacht going along the road. 
Lemmer! The Ijselmeer has some lovely sandy beaches. There’s a coffee shop we stopped at just here which I won’t forget. Broke their toilet seat ! It must’ve been weak
Theres more canals in this town than there are streets. It’s been a very short day and the Lemmer hotel, (built from an old warehouse) has let us in early. 
Tomorrow we will be meeting up with the other kiwis to start our boating adventure
