Sneek

I know this isn’t a blog about our cycle trip anymore( will continue next Saturday) but there’s grandkids and family that just want to know what we’re up toAfter being stung for mooring the first night out we were careful to find a quiet spot somewhere ‘free’ . Ash came out for a walk with us in the morning .We were nicely tucked up here last night, I was making a mountain of Spaghetti bol, when Peter let out a shout ” he’s going to hit us ! Look at the silly bugger !” Obviously they’d just picked up their hire boat, going too fast ! The woman on the bow screaming at the guy on the wheel ! BANG , luckily we were both protected by the fenders on our sides and no harm was done. Actually it was the second drama of the dayWe were parked on an island for lunch when an attractive young lady sailed in with her 3 kids. She was have trouble berthing so Ash , testosterone charged ,runs out to help. The boy didn’t throw the rope far enough so Ash hurled himself in to retrieve it. It went deep very quickly so he was floundering about in water over his head. She was sooo grateful. She offered him some apple pie and in her haste to give it to him, she slipped and fell in alsoOur man rushed to her help again, the pie got soaked and so did our hero’s Doesn’t that give you the warm fuzzies? This footbridge was opened by pushing a button. Trouble is NOTHING is in English and it took some working out.Porridge for breakfast, this is our lunch feast, and we have turns to come up with dinner .

We are in Sneek by lunchtime (pronounced snake )and are going to stay here the night so we can see the finals of Wimbledon and the football World Cup . This is a beautiful town and it is so entertaining just watching the constant flow of traffic down the main ‘street’
