We were up at 6.30, made our porridge , cleaned the boat and were patiently waiting for the office staff to turn up to get our bond back before we could get underway.
It’s the last day of school today and the kids were playing a game of ‘who’s under the mask’? It also means we have to be sure of our accomodation for the night
We had a bit of trouble getting into Erk but stopped there for lunch. This is the monument to the scores of fishermen who have lost their lives in these waters .
Followed the dykes nearly all the way to Lelystad. Luckily a mostly tail wind .
Just before Lalystad is the museum Batavia with a full size replica of this famous Dutch ship that went aground off the west coast of Australia.
If you haven’t read the book I can thoroughly recommend it by Peter Fitzsimmons .
It shows the stages of building these amazing ships. I loved it !
And after dinner and a few beers it was singing as usual. 68 kms to here. Now we need to plan our route for tomorrow
