As we were leaving our hotel in Auckland we caught sight of these silly old fools down the hall carrying bikes . ( for goodness sakes ! )
I can recommend Korean airlines. Less seats than most airlines so more legroom. I had booked our hotel in Seoul because it had a free shuttle to the airport,(important when you’re carrying bikes) Unfortunately they failed to say that it was from Gympo airport ,not the main Inchion one so we had to catch a bus to Gympo ( 40 minutes away ) where our shuttle then came and got us from. It could have been stressful but a steward from our flight, Jun , took us under his wing and escorted us to our shuttle.
What a prince !
The Main Street in the city centre leads up to the palace. It’s the approved place for protesting so there were groups everywhere protesting everything from police brutality to plastic straws
We’ve only got 2 full days here so we went on a city tour. It’s a very clean city but man ,the air pollution was bad!
museums, markets, palaces, its an interesting place but we were never any good with tours.! The highlight for us was the war memorial museum. It’s VAST ! and a poignant reminder that the enemy is still there just outside the city

Every young man spends 2 years in the army here, and when it’s their turn so will these youngsters no doubt. Tomorrow we leave for Amsterdam
