You’re hard pressed to find any litter on the road sides in Holland. Perhaps these things help. Just slow down and throw it in 😇
We’ve worked out the shortest route to the German border directly east of Groenlo. We were joined along the way by Rudi
( my speedo had bounced off on this cobblestone section ). Rudi was a wealth of local knowledge and told us what it was like during the war living this close to the border
We give Rudi our blog as we say goodbye. We’re turning left to the border
But of course with EU there are no physical borders now. Just a sign and a map
Today’s a religious holiday ( unbeknown to us ) and ALL shops are shut . We’d left early without waiting for breakfast so by the time we passed these sausage sellers I was ready to bite one.
When you have a baby in these parts the locals decorate your place . This was for a girl named Suze. It’s been all blue for boys so far so these parents are lucky ( or not )
After Gescher the route was tricky so we teamed up with these two until we got to Coesfeld. Immediately got lost again and I waved these 2 down to ask them the way to Billerbeck.
Martina and Yogen ( I think ) took us about 4 kms out of their way and put us on the road to Billerbeck.
They were wonderful ! One of the great joys of travelling like this is seeing the best of human nature. As you can see it’s only 13 more kms to go
We’re here ! 65 kms .It’s only 2pm so we’ll find a bed then have a look around. ‘Booking.com ‘found us a nice hotel, which was very lucky ,as it was the last room in town apparently . By 5.00 we were tucking into a huge Turkish meal ,as apart from 2 croissants at a service station at 10.00 this morning ,we hadn’t eaten all day
🎼the bells were ringing 🎼 for me and my girl🎼.
