Augustdorf

Booking.com asks you to rate each hotel you stay in and the Kruger last night was our highest rating yet. Sounds snobby but it is a damn good guide for other travellers. We’ve set our destination about 65kms due east .We then asked the app ‘bike maps ‘ to set us a course there. Google maps will only do one for driving or walking and we learnt our lesson yesterday . First town today is Oelde and even though it’s a busy road , there’s a bike road beside it. BrilliantThe next town is Gütersloh and it’s coffee time while we check our map to make sure we’re on track. The names are so difficult to rememberBy Verl it was starting to drizzle so we put on our coats. Still not bad though !We’re now travelling through the vast Holte forest . 670 hectares with some beautiful bush. A bit of a surprise ! A 17th century hunting lodge, privately owned so we couldn’t go through itIt’s more than a drizzle now! More like a GRIZZLE .It’s too late now but we should have been wearing those ponchos. Only 6 kms to go !Augustdorf , and as we reach our hotel the rain stops. SHOOT ! It’s only 2.30, we could have sat it out somewhere😬. Anyway the forecasts for fine weather for at least the next week. I hope this place has got a clothes dryer
