Tourists

We’ve dedicated today to exploring Berlin. WOW . What an interesting city Berlin is vast, and the best way to take it all in is definitely on a city tour bus. The tour guides are a lot of fun and full of funny stories. Much of the centre was destroyed in WW2 by allied bombing but the new architecture is absolutely audacious!!!art in progressThis ones called Titanic. There are still many of the beautiful old buildings remainingGerman parliament building. You can walk around in it’s glass domenational museum of something important ?but the most fascinating for us was the remains of the Berlin Wall and the amazing outdoor museum running beside it in what was the cellar of the dreaded SS . It told Berlins history of the rise of the 3rd Reich and how it came about , right up to the end of the 1990s and the fall of the wall.Checkpoint Charlie. After 1961, the only way through from east to west.35% of Berlin is in parks and waterways. later today we head to the suburbs where we’ve got an apartment booked for tonight. The easiest way to find it was to jump on a train. On the way to the station we were held up by a demonstration. They are still Fighting issues from the communist era. This ones demanding answers to the 100s of children that were forcibly abducted and not heard of since. That’s the station ! It’s like something out of Star Wars with a train going somewhere every 20 seconds.
