Bialystok

We need to get around this piece of Russia that is Kaliningrad (bastards ) and the easiest way so far has been by train. This morning we caught one to Bialystok hoping to get another Lithuanien train from there. Information has been vague !Do we look relieved? The information on the web said this train has bike places. Turns out the spaces are in cabins with doors narrower than our handlebars. The couple that took this snap also had bikes and we were all frantically trying to find Allen keys to loosen our handlebars to turn them sideways. Then by standing the bikes on their back wheels we got them in the cabins. We were all in fits of laughter but VERY relieved to be on . If they were short of seats that was too bad , the other couple took a whole cabin alsoSigns of new prosperity. 2 new stations and a whole lot of new track along the wayIt was drizzling when we arrived so we’ll probably wait until summer returns in 2 days time . First off, find a cafe with wifi, look up booking.com and find a place for the night ( or 2 )Found one. Right on the town square with a balcony overlooking the cathedral . A 2 bedroom apartment, very nice for $50. Look up Rint appartments. Bialystok.
