The train leaves at 9.15. I thought I’d better check with the ticket office that our tickets covered the bikes as well . The lady was so apologetic but explained that there were no spaces on this train for bikes and we’d have to catch the mid day train. Furthermore it was too late for a refund and I’d have to buy 2 new tickets. ‘Well, there has to be a way ‘ thinks Don
First of all find a nice young lady that speaks good English. Tell her our sad story and see what she thinks! She lives in Copenhagen and has been visiting her mom .
” let me speak to the conducter and see if she can find some room ” she suggested
” Really ? That would be fantastic, thanks”
There wasn’t of course but who can refuse a mum with a baby. We were squeezed in. Whew ! That was close.
When we got to Klaipeda we met 2 Kiwis from Christchurch. They’re backpacking around Europe having started in China
I would have picked them out as Kiwis without them even singing out Kia Ora to us. Katmandu tops down to Johns jandels
Hallelujah! We’re back on EV10 . What a different country this is on the coast. The bike way up the whole coast of Lithuania is wonderful.!
sorry dear ! It’s got warmer, the sun is out and we have met lots of touring cyclists ( never saw ONE on EV11 )
ice-cream , toilet stops, beach beside us, this is heaven

Saw snails at Palango
it’s enough to make the whole family take up cycling
Sventoji . This place is beautiful and right next door is a restaurant straight out of Hobbitville.
Lithuania has some great restaurants and a really top meal is only about $20.
thé roof is either the thatch or turf.
There’s rabbit on the menu but I’m not sure if you have to climb onto the roof and catch it first ?
All to the sounds of a wee Jazz trio
