Degerby

The road out of Helsinki was brilliant. Wide cycle ways in all directions. New buildings are going up all around us , all seem to be near water or have a view of it.The appartment owners here could pop down for a spot of cable waterskiing. Ski jumps and all. It’s feeling like summer again now , we stopped to check our GPS and a Fox trotted nonchalantly past. I was so taken back I forgot to get a photo. Apparently it’s a common sight around the urban areaIt’s rural now and there’s more of the traditional shaped Scandinavian housesRed paint must be cheap here or is it just traditional. We’re heading firstly to Kirkkonummi. All road signs are in Swedish and Finnishand here it is. I must say there aren’t any pretty towns. Then again there’s no old or scruffy places eitherDegerby. It looks promising? We took a wrong turn coming here and did an extra 6 kms. Ended up at 65kms . Did I say promising? Apart from the church there was only this bar come grocery store. They all new ‘Leena’ Shes our landlady at the BnB tonight. I’m sure I saw them giving each other a sly grin !The reviews looked good ( it was the only place for miles) but OMG 😮 the ‘ bedroom’. Then 20 metres away the ‘shower’and only a mere 100 metres away the toilet I’m surprised she didn’t have torn up newspaper for toilet paper. It’s given us a hell of a laugh though. ( she’s 84 and forbids photo taking) Oh, and the wifi gets turned off at 9.00 because the light keeps her awake
