We were lucky to find this place yesterday. It’s halfway between Linköping and Jönköping, about 70kms each way . It had been booked out the night before we arrived.
I had worked out a route south which avoided busy roads but of course there was no way of knowing what the surface or the hills would be like. The 504 is through a forest, very isolated and metaled but it was still hard and smooth. It’s amazing how much it affects your speed though. Down to 10-12 kph on this
Hardly a house along it .looks like Hansel and Gretel live here.
So goodness knows where the children come from to keep this school going. No kids today, school goes back mid August worst luck. That’s why accomodation along the coast is hard to get. 
After about 30kms we come out onto the coast of Lake Vattern. It’s HUGE. The 6th largest lake in Europe. A little further along is the town of Gränna 
Gränna is a ferry port for the island offshore. It’s also famous for its ‘rock ‘ candy. Tourists flock here for the ‘rock and to enjoy the ambience. The Main Street still has all its old shops from the mid 1800s
Amelia Erickson’s. The inventor of the original rock in 1857, or as it’s known here ‘Polkagris’.

The bike trail is clearly marked now as it winds its way towards Jönköping, around some smaller lakes and through a lot of apple orchards. 
Part of it seems to be on an old railway line which eventually comes out in Husqvarna.
then 3kms further on to the beaches of Jönköping.
It was COLD ! We sat and read for a while as it’s just gone 12.30 and too early to check in.
Home for the night. RC Arena. It’s got a hotel upstairs and a magnificent stadium downstairs. Christine didn’t realise what I’d booked . This is her idea of heaven !
Tennis, badminton, 10 bowling alley, curling.You can look down on them from the upstairs lounges. This town has 4 huge stadiums in the same park. Ice hockey in one, Olympic swimming pool in another… They also host international Yachting events on the lake. Oh , and there’s a big deep bath in our room 🤗
