Lidhult

I’ve slipped the map in to show the difficulty in plotting a route from point A to point B. The red dot is Vernamo where we stayed last night, the blue dot is Lidhult where we are now. Because of all the lakes no road goes in the exact direction we want to go . ‘Bike maps’ told me it was 73 kms away so I found a B n B here and booked it.As we were leaving Vernamo the council staff were out hand watering the flowers. Even in the larger city’s I never saw an irrigation system. Katikati has irrigation!Forsheda. (Forcars. ) We had to make a 4 km dash along a main road to get here as the quiet road ran out leaving us no alternative. Now we turn south towards Unnaryd.I don’t think the locals see too many cyclists through this wayThere wasn’t any town showing on our map for 30kms so when this service station /grocery store appeared we went in for an early coffee 9.00 am . Sadly he sold everything from fertiliser to French letters but no coffee. “Not a problem “he says . And he sent his wife out to their house to make us one. FREE . Love these Swedes Unnaryd. Tea break at a cafe and antique shop. People have these wagons and old horse drawn sledges as decorations in their gardens . Such a waste !There’s a hell of a lot of forest in Sweden , 20 km strip along here, which can be quite boring so I get all excited when I see a piece of machinery. While Christine loves to photograph wild flowers and butterflies. Pretty isn’t it ? Now here’s the perfect married couple. She just stood there while he was swatting the flies off her face. A sign post from 1777 showing the way to Tiltraholm. How do I know ? Because the billboard tells me so ! There aren’t many Tourist information centres in Sweden but there are a lot of information boards like this along the way.Lidhult . This is home tonight, ‘Mooi! Gula Huset’. A Dutch couple run it. Yoose has a big ‘blokes’ shed and a cool old land rover. While upstairs I do my blog in the big lounge which we seem to have to ourselves.
