Friedrichstadt is only 3 kms down the road and I swear if it wasn’t for this train we wouldn’t have got caught in the rain.
Did I say rain ? It bloody hailed for 5 minutes and that’s after the forecast saying it will be a fine day !. Ok, we’re already wet now so we decided it’s now only a light shower so let’s go hard and warm up
It worked, even if we did look like Batman and Robin
By the time we reached Lunden it had stopped and the sun was coming out for this funeral. Pick the one not going to a funeral
and by Flehde it was getting warm enough to strip off again
Bargen ( the village not the boat ) then we stopped to have a look around this old mill at Weddingstedt.
Heide. George was slaying the dragon while we had coffee under the red umbrella. To get out of the SUN now would you believe.
The B203 is a busy road but we felt perfectly safe on our own cycle lane . Everywhere you look there’s wind farms !
This is a big market garden and fruit growing area . Great for a grazer like me. ![]()
Busum. Another North Sea tourist centre. When we booked in to our hotel we had to pay €3 each to use Busums man made beach
“but we don’t want a swim!” “Ah, but you may !” Anyway it’s compulsory.
Tip to travellers ! If you’re just passing through you can go on the main beach for free and if you can walk a mile offshore you may even get your knees wet
Or if sunbathing is your thing you can rent one of these cane basket things and just look at the sea
They sure look comfortable . Yeah right
