Bremerhaven

It’s only 50 kms to Bremerhaven so our biggest problem is getting there too early. They don’t like you checking in before 2.00pm . This hotel didn’t supply breakfast so there was no point hanging around and we were away by 7.00 .I punched in the first town, Mittelstenahe, and let the GPS guide us there as the roads were heading in all directions. Bloody thing took us through the back of a farm and then a forest. the photos not clear because I take them as I ride and this was bu bu bu bumpy. anyway, as I said , we have time to fill .At least it’s well signposted now . Those are the next 2 places on my list.( I work out the course for the day using ‘bike maps’)Moorausmoor. Because the cow sheds sit right on the road I stopped to watch them milking cows. The shed inspectors would’ve had a field day in NZ. It was a 4 aside herring bone shed and it was filthy! also too dark to get a photoBad Bederkesa. There was some festival on and the town was decorated in green and white. These funny looking straw men were on sale probably for the same festival A canal runs through town and the local kids were about to take their dragon boat out for a spin. Christine picked up €30 off the ground just here. What a great town!Every now and then ,if there was a walking track , there was usually a portaloo. Typical of Germany, these are immaculately clean with paper and hand wash. 1762. The family’s details are written over the centre doorAs I said the cow sheds come right out to the street in the villages ,and the smell, but this is getting a bit close to home. The front door is by the pot plants, the cowshed door is the one on the left. I could see them milking but wasn’t game to go and take a photoBremerhaven. We’ve had 3 coffee stops today to wait out the showers. I don’t mind but I think I’m getting too much caffeine. It’s just gone 12.30 and I picked up the good news about the rugby at one of them. ahhh , gives you the warm fuzzies !
