This is a great little house and after breakfast we walked along the canal to the Main Street where stall holders were setting up for a market day.

A CF Bedford ice-cream van . Love it!
The crowds hadn’t started arriving yet so we went to the far end of town to see Marieke our landlady. She owns a clothes shop her mother started 40 years ago. Today she was giving away free ice-cream 
and of course there’s always something happening on the canal
The lads are opening the lock for a barge from Lemmer
I had a good chat with him. His wife and him get around on their vintage mopeds
We wanted to get the history of this town so headed for the museum. It existed initially because of the peat dug from the district and shipped to Amsterdam.
I liked the silversmiths fully intact workshop.
While Christine just wanted to play shop
No biking today but we gave the bags a good clean . We’ll go out exploring the surrounding villages and countryside for the rest of the week. I must admit it’s good to do some cooking and drink a little wine
