Oldeberkoop

The direction today is south to Oldeberkoop. It’s only 15kms away so we’ll take a few side routes on the way there and another route on the way backThis traîner was out exercising his trotter and we kept passing each other for the first 5 kms. It’s name is ‘ Hot stuff Hodt’ and he’s apparently a winner. All I know is that as I was busy talking to him ( the trainer) , I missed a sign and we ended up about 5 kms off our route. Now this guy is OBVIOUSLY a Batchelor. I can’t imagine my wife letting me fill the front lawn with my favourite junkOldeberkoop. Timed it nicely for morning tea . It’s a beautiful shady little place with the usual butchery, grocery and bakerij.Theres also a garage ( in blue) and a shoe shop. see the golden shoe on a pole Oh boy! Some of those goodies make the old mouth water. We met this couple from Rotterdam out biking also, and spent an amusing half hour with themAs the canals Criss cross Friesland we were always stumbling across one . Here 3 boats share a lock. We had seen 2 of them in Gorredijk the night beforeNow this is an interesting beast. It takes concentrated ‘smell’ as in abattoirs, and pumps the liquid smelly’s under the turf of a paddock. Very clever! It’s now gone midday and we’re searching out shady lanes on our way home to a bit of tv and a cold beer
