I wouldn’t have even bothered to put this in but it helps to kill Time. On the way to the airport A very scam type voice rang us in the car and before I could give him his pedigree, he informed me that our flight had been delayed until the next day

but not to wolly, Qatar will pick up the cost of the hotels including the overnight stay in Doha.! Hmmm, what a great night it was for the hotels in Auckland. The Naumi which we were lucky enough to get -went from $210 to $350 immediately and a poor young foreign girl a bit later cost her $500 for a single room. AND THERE WAS NO SKY TV

So hear we are at Doha and would you believe it. No hotel booking! We made ourselves comfortable in the lounge and watched people walking by and wondering what the young ladies look like under their burkas. Interesting announcement came over the PA. ‘A Warning it wasn’t a good idea to smack in public. ‘

“ there is a special smacking area which you can use instead of just doing it anywhere”. Cripes they have standards after all

We disembarked at around 2pm today, found our bike bags ,phew, and soon had them back together and on the road. We had to take the tram into town though as the highway in we found,is not suitable for bikes.

Our original booking was gone (of course )so we have found one on the lake side of town. It won’t be an early start tomorrow 😵
