Under the hotel was a ‘secure’ car park with a free bike lockup. Getting in here was hard enough, then we had to wait for a car to leave so we could follow it out through the locked doors !

Our hotel was directly opposite this museum over the Rhone, then it was over another bridge over the Saône. The ‘Confluence ‘ of the 2 mighty rivers.

The trail follows the right bank all the way today but until Gregor it was mostly on bike lanes beside the road. Thankfully it’s a quiet Sunday morning.

The cycling from Gregor to St Pierre de beouf was superb ! The occasional cruise ship, families out on bikes and on the water. Even a tail wind…

As we came into St Romain en Gal we came across the village Fête. They were playing pétanque and jousting from boats. Seems to be a popular sport in the south of France

Because we were beside the river and there was a good breeze, the heat didn’t worry us too much today. We arrived at 2pm (58kms) but had to wait for 2 hours for the room to be ready.
