Perpignan rest day

This is a great hotel ! We each had a kitchen in our rooms and so we had a very welcome feast of porridge prepared by Sarah exactly as we used to do it for them in Katikati. Funny the things you miss.

Being the first Sunday of the month, the museum in the old Notre Dame gate was free. The ancient city was once enclosed in a Vauban Fort and this was one of it entrances
This was once a Catalonian city and the museum told the story of the history and culture of Catalonia. Now divided up between France and Spain
It was later a prison. The inside of the door had names and dates carved into it by prisoners who could obviously write. One name had 1580 carved next to it
The 360degree view from the tower was a good way to finish our visit to this fine city. Looking south we can see the Pyrenees and the direction we’ll be taking tomorrow.
À bientôt Polka
