Tourists ?

We wanted to stay one more day in this town but the only accommodation we could get was Hostal Zurich, about 50 metres from the first hotel . Not as nice but half the price ( there’s a song in there somewhere)

It’s the one on the right. ‘Hostal ‘conjurés up visions of dormitories and bunks but they are more like hotels but cheaper versions

Unbelievable I know ! but we got on the tourist train to have a look around . The town stretches along the coast with some big hills so this was the easy way

The young driver was a student earning holiday money. He said the cab was unbearably hot as his fan wasn’t working so I checked the fuses out
The narrow streets are the best place to be as the tall buildings give lots of shade
The lottery ticket sellers must get hot in there though
I recognise some of them. It’s the ladies from the knitting club. All waving fans to keep cool
It’s much more pleasant walking in the evenings. We watched the All Blacks win ( well we watched the commentary) Then stayed out for a while enjoying the cool
Kids were still playing volleyball
And some were ….. interesting silhouette

There was mass in the cathedral next door to the Hostal so Christine went along to give thanks for the All Blacks win

A couple of hundred other locals must have seen the game as well
