Prague Castle

Charles Bridge. Started in 1357 and finished by none other than Good King Wenceslas in 1402 . We’re approaching the Prague castle in the background which I’m told is a ‘ must see ‘

We took the route through the Senate gardens to get to the castle
Christine was fascinated by the statue of a dog ?
The castle gates. Quite a climb up here and I’d like to say it was worth it but actually it was a real let down. Just a cathedral in the middle of it made it look better than it was
The flying buttresses allow the building to be built higher and slimmer so more light could get in. Just reinforcing really but made to look pretty. Clever engineering for the 13th century !

The ‘Dancing Tower’ (Tancici dum ) inspired by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers .The stone tower symbolises Fred Astaire and the glass tower Ginger Rogers. There’s a coffee shop on top by the the dome which served the smallest cappuccino I’ve seen. Di Logan suggested this attraction to us. “ thanks Di, it certainly was unique. As for the other place you wanted to see, ‘The Museum of sex machines’, we couldn’t find it but I got some strange looks asking after it. 😏
