Kralupy nad Vltavou

By now I can get around the centre of Prague a lot better, admittedly it’s easier early in the morning before the hoards of tourists wake up so we were soon back on track and heading NORTH

It’s Sunday and the locals are out in force, slalom canoeing, roller blading, fishing. It’s warm already and this trail is superb
Zamky Podhori. Every so often there’s a little ferry. The operator comes when you call him and lives in the old caravan. Just for the summer I think. There’s a lot of these old caravans around still in use. They were used a lot for farm accomodation in the communist era
Klecany. Every so often in life you come to a fork in the road and you have to make a decision. The women are deciding whether to go up the hill on the overland route or follow the river over a rough section. SHE said SHE was taking the low road so like sheep we followed
Oh dear ! And this was the good part

It was well used ,but by Lycra clad youngsters on mountain bikes, not by a pair of geriatric kiwis. 10 kms later we came out where the overland route came back to the river.

Can you see my knees shaking?
Maslovice and it’s another ferry crossing. The train runs along the far side. We’re pleasantly surprised at how cheap the food and drinks are here in Czechia and there’s lots of good hotels for around $100 per night .
BLISS ! Back on a good bike trail again. Here’s a load of shingle heading for Prague
The rough part wore us out so we’ve stopped the night in Kralupy nad Vltavou. It’s amusing to see shops selling onto the street through a window. Very common. Christine got an ice-cream and I got a large beer all for $5.

Home tonight is the SPORTS hotel. Rather swanky but still only $118 including breakfast
