Ústí nad Labum

It was hot in that cabin so we slept with the windows open. Oh boy! The smell from the animals was suffocating and so when the roosters started we were very happy to get up and moving

Love the names! It’s going to get to 32’ today so the early start was a blessing
The trail isn’t on the river on this section , just crops and vegetables as far as we can see
Picking cabbages today
The fort town of Terezin. The fort is massive and difficult to show from the ground

The entire town was used as a Jewish ghetto under the nazis but was originally built in 1580 during the Austrian wars

We’re trying to find the way to Vedomice
Wow. The railway station at Vedomice. Put your money in the slot , the door opens , put your bike on the protruding rack and it’s gone. Fascinating, we watched one taken up and parked. Put your ticket back in later on and it’ll find your bike and bring it to the door
Vedomice, we had morning tea then were off again. the trail is back on the river again by the look of this map
I’ve been astounded how many yachts are on the river. The wind generally blows up the river from midday so I guess it’s just a lot of tacking between the banks then a long run with the wind
Great spot for an ice-cream anyway
45 kms and we’re in Ústí. That’s the Ústí castle
DAMN. One more nasty twist to the trip. The trail led us up and over a lock . ( yes I also pushed Christines ).

Should have just stayed on the road , the traffic wasn’t heavy !

Across the river I can see our hotel already. The Bohemian.
Oh such luxury ! After cleaning up and a rest I went out and joined in a protest against the government. The BASTARDS! ( I’m still not sure what it was about though)
