We had to do our own cleaning in the cabin !😳 Even so we were still away by 8.00am . This is late for us but I suppose at our age we can drag the chain a bit. We’re only doing 30km days anyway as we build up our fitness again

This is a dairy farm. Typically right up to the road with the cattle watching us go by. It’s mostly been cropping farms so far

As the Americans were advancing across France, the Nazis emptied out the prisons and marched the 2,000 odd POWs here to be sent away somewhere?. Resistance fighters political prisoners etc. No Jews at that stage.

Crossing the Marne again to Charly-sur-Marne. ( you’ve probably guessed the sur means ‘on the’.

This is the beginning of the Champagne region.

In the 1950s this sprayer would have been State of the art!
Now they spray 7 rows at a time
And prune 2 rows at a time

Like monsters out of some movie, these things were everywhere. From where I stood I counted at least 10 out in the vineyards

Just coming in to Chateau Thierry.
And the hotel for tonight. Right opposite a Carrafour. ( a huge supermarket/shopping centre)
About $400 worth of fish there
