Brumath

40 steps up to our room 🥵. We made sure we bought everything down with us as I didn’t want to go back up there again. Mind you it was nice and we even had our own cat come and join us for breakfast

It’s Saturday morning and already there’s a big pétanque tournament started in the chateau grounds
A fishing contest happening a bit further along complete with the lady selling sausages from under the bridge ( it looks like it might rain )
The old building is getting a new roof. Already with a lined ceiling and a thick insulation. It’s picked up with a vacuum sucker by the crane

I do so love watching craftsmen like these working. They put up 3 panels as I watched.

Waltenshein. There were 4 of these huge old barges being used as houses and one even as a BnB
At the same place was this 12 metre launch for sale so I stopped and gave it the once over .I know someone in New Zealand looking to buy one to cruise the canals of Europe . ( €15,000 )
On this whole trip there has hardly been a cafe near the bikeway. There’s about 12 bikes parked around this one so you have to wonder why not
Right opposite was obviously an artists house. Now why would you hang your art inside when there’s all these perfectly good walls to paint. ( Hansel and Gretel )
We stopped to study this map showing cycle ways of the Alsace. Met this lovely young lady touring with her husband by bike and I don’t know how it came up but both Christine and her were the same age. ( note how I didn’t call her an OLD lady. )
Atolon hôtel. Brand new and very nice .Booking.com had a special on it and it was just the right distance from Strasbourg for tomorrow .
