Mulhouse

🌧️🌧️🎼 some days are diamonds, some days are……….

Colmar .House of heads
We had a good look around the old town before we left Colmar.

It looks like it could rain today and we’ve got a big day in front of us. Even with the help of google this was a very difficult town to find our way out of

What a neat thing to do on an ugly wall. I’ve yet to visit an art gallery that match’s some of the murals we’ve seen
It should have been a relief to get back on the cycleway

Not so.! Of all the biking so far, this section from Colmar to Mulhouse is the worst. It zigs and zags , climbs up and down, all of which we can enjoy on a nice day but…..

Thunder and lightning.. What do they say about standing under a tree in a thunderstorm
We finally found a cafe that was open so by the time we’d finished our cup of tea it had cleared.
Running beside a 4 lane highway with the smell of all that shite wafting over us
I’ve been told by my daily stalker that people used to paint their houses according to their religion. Red or orange for protestants ,blue for Catholics ,yellow? Jehovahs perhaps
The chateau overlooking Rouffach
Pretty cool restaurant below it. A vintage car at each end of the barbecue area
There was a horse powered flour mill here. Just the stone left but you can imagine the horse attached to the pole sticking out( it was longer apparently) going round and round in circles all day

Actually I felt a bit like that today, 🐴the route is going all over the place and I finally succumbed …

And caught the iron horse for the last 20kms into Mulhouse

Mulhouse ! We have 3 nights here as we wait for Susan and Michael to arrive from Barcelona. It was very fitting that as we left the train station we crossed the Rhone- Rhein canal which we will travel along with them
