Paris

Misty morning in more ways than one

Michael had hung his towel over the back to dry out. When they were a few kilometres out of Decize they realised it was missing so they went back ,but no luck.

The market was just setting up. It’s almost 9am but it’s still very foggy
One train to Nevers then I had to buy another ticket to Paris Bercy. ( near Gare de Lyon)

I hate waiting at train stations. The 10am train was full so they put us on the 10.25 one. At 10.20 I suddenly thought ,I wonder if it leaves from the same platform. Nope, platform D on the other side of the lines so I had to carry the bikes down a flight of stairs, through the tunnel then carry them up the other side ,just in time to throw them onto the waiting train. 🥵

Paris. At last. It was only two and a half hours and cost $190 for us both

This is right outside the Gare (station). The Bercy stadium.magnificent thing and used in the Olympic Games for something ( not sure what) the Gendarmes were everywhere. Note the weapons

Rough sleeping in Paris
No traffic management here. They’re replacing a verandah and we almost walked on some boards with nails sticking up

We’ve booked into a Best Western further along nearer the centre Ville. It’s comfortable but more importantly in Paris ,it has bike storage inside.

What a great feeling. No sooner inside and it started pouring down.

At least it’s predicted to be fine tomorrow for some sight seeing
